The Kalicoontie Rod and Gun club will be hosting a Veterans Appreciation Day event on Sunday September 25th from 10AM till 4PM. Open to local area veterans. The event will be held to allow us to show veterans our appreciation for their service to us and the country. We plan on having food, fun, and friendship throughout the day. If you or someone you know is a Veteran and would like to attend, please contact me Joe Distefano at 518-537-3997. Even though we want all to attend, space is limited so please register your name so we can accommodate as many as possible. We are working with the Columbia County Veterans Services to make this event possible. Everyone have a safe and healthy summer. Thank You !

Yesterday the Kalicoontie Rod and Gun Club with the help of Ed Unkel and friends held our first youth fishing derby in years. The tournament was held at Ed Unkel’s pond at his property in Hudson NY. Starting at 8am in the morning and running till noon, the day was filled with food, fun, friends, and fish! Over 20 youth participants ( 24 total ) were entered in the contest which saw all going home with some sort of prize or another. A great day that we hope to do again next year. Here are some photos from yesterday. A great big thank you to all who helped make this great day possible. Worms and minnows were purchased from Hook line and Sinker bait shop in Red Hook. Some of the wonderful prizes given to the entrants were donated by the bait shop also. Thank You !
